FAQ’s
What can I expect from my first session?
The first session will be mostly information gathering as therapist will ask questions to get to know client better and to begin building the therapeutic relationship pivotal to the counseling process.
How often will we meet?
Sessions will generally occur once a week, typically the same day and time each week for continuity purposes. However, depending on client’s needs, sessions can be held once every two weeks or once a month. This will be discussed during first session.
How long will I need to be in therapy for?
This will vary depending on each client. A typical treatment can last from a couple of months to years, depending on client’s needs and level of participation. As treatment progresses, timeline of services will be reevaluated based on client’s treatment plan.
What if I am in a crisis/emergency situation?
This is NOT crisis counseling. If you are in a crisis/emergency situation (suicidal, life-threatening, self-harm, etc.), please call 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency room. You may also call the National Suicide Hotline at 988.
What is your cancellation/no-show policy?
